Pleased to be re-elected to the Church of England’s #GeneralSynod representing the Diocese of London. As a gay man, living with HIV, I will advocate for everyone, including LGBTQIA+ people, asylum claimants, the homeless and all people living with #HIV.

Thinking of, sending love and standing in solidarity with the family and friends of the people killed and injured, as well as LGBTQIA+ people and their allies, at Berlin Pride. In this increasingly divisive time, we can work together and will defeat hate.
Today marks 44 years since Terry Higgins passed away - the first person to be named as dying from an AIDS-related illness in the UK. His legacy is @THTorguk. I am living with HIV, and owe so much to this amazing charity and their team. #HIV
BREAKING NEWS - A DRAFT BILL ON CONVERSION PRACTICES IS NOW A REALITY.
I'm in tears with joy - here is my response to this wonderful news. Still concerned about prayer being covered properly, the devil will be in the detail. Statement below
Today marks 10 years since the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. 49 people were killed and 53 injured. Our thoughts are with their family and friends. LGBTQIA+ people face prejudice, but I believe we can replace discrimination with dignity and respect. #PulseNightClub

While the UK was ranked first in 2015, today we have been ranked twenty-second on LGBTQIA+ rights in Europe for a second year running, in ILGA-Europe’s annual Rainbow Map. The UK scored only 43.9 per cent, with trans rights and a failure to #banconversionpractices major factors.
Today marks 27 years since the Admiral Duncan Nail Bombing. Three people died and 79 were injured. Hate crimes against LGBTQIA+ people are increasing dramatically. We stand in solidarity and remembrance, for those lost on the day and in similar attacks globally. #AdmiralDuncan
I once thought politics wasn’t for me. Now, I’m proud to represent my constituents and @TheGreenParty in parliament. I told @gaytimes@philipcbaldwin about coming out, my journey into politics and how we can make the world a better place 🏳️🌈🌍

Today, 16 years ago, I was diagnosed with #HIV. I was 24. Medical approaches to HIV have changed. And so has my life. I am no longer a terrified patient, but an outspoken activist. I am on effective treatment, can expect a normal lifespan and can’t pass it on. HIV has changed.
⚠️ Senegalese authorities have detained 15 people simply for being in an LGBT+ WhatsApp group. SHAME!
This kind of forced outing & criminalisation fuels fear & legitimises homophobic discrimination & violence. SHAME!

Massive kick to be interviewed by the @NewStatesman on the Australian social media ban, and the various ways in which the UK coalition is arguing for something rather different.

"We need to move to a place around HIV, without delay, stigma or shame, where people are able to talk openly about their experiences and we are able to find humanity and compassion as a society"
@TheGreenParty leader @ZackPolanski speaking to @philipcbaldwin for @gaytimes today.
It’s #WorldAIDSDay & the final day of our #5DaysOfAction.
