"If we are to heed the biblical command ‘as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone’, then we should at the very least be open, in principle, to this call."

@shaw_davidm I have a strong memory of reading this, and Trajan's reply, early in my MDiv and being struck by both how distant and how very near the ancients felt. It was when the reality of Lewis' chronological snobbery hit home for me.
I had to arrive at opening time on day 1 of SBL to get my hands on this. Looking forward to cracking it open on the flight home. (SBL peeps, there are 4 copies left as of 5 minutes ago.)
@ZonderAcademic
Presenting a paper on Recapitulation Theology and Typological Reading this afternoon.
(Last time I tried to present this paper at a conference I came down with covid that morning, so with 2 hours and 14 minutes to go, I think I'm in with a shot this time.)
@DZRishmawy Yes, they're totally there, and a number of authors are starting to pick up on them increasingly of late. (I just get excited whenever recapitulation gets a mention.)
