$TSLA (+4% AH) and $GM have reached an agreement for GM to adopt Tesla’s North American charging standard. (NACS). Starting in 2024, GM EV owners will have access to 12K Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada with an adapter. Beginning in 2025, all GM EVs will be built with a NACS inlet for use with Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.

Since TSLA will now add charging fees for all GM and Ford EVs to use its superchargers, this announcement is clearly value accretive. Having one North American charging standard should also help relieve EV range anxiety and so should accelerate EV adoption.
