Persuasive rather than desperate I hope. I’m always content with failure if the evidence leads us there (50% of the outcomes). The technical samples with Read however were remarkably matched in a way I had never encountered before. It is difficult to argue with physical evidence when it is so specifically matched.

An exciting addition to Anglo Indian art. And one of the earliest portraits by a western female artist of an Indian subject. I loved getting to grips with Read as an artist.
