Congratulations to all of our @CumbriaUni students graduating this week!! 💖🎓🎉 Come and see us on the static picket today 11-3 Carlisle Market Cross we’d love to celebrate with you! We’re protesting to protect staff and students current and future and celebrating our graduates!
Our social media messaging must be having an impact and worrying someone because our @UOCUCU Facebook page has been reported 6 times today and closed down for posts about our legal industrial action and solidarity with UCU colleagues fighting for better pay and conditions ✊@ucu
I NEED EVERY UCU MEMBER AND SUPPORTER TO RT THIS THREAD.
University bosses are rattled. Across the UK they are threatening UCU members with unfair and immoral pay deductions if they take part in action short of striking. This thread exposes every single one of them

A great thing about my ADHD brain’s unpredictable dopamine release is that every once in a while I get these unexplainable, fleeting moments of intense joy, where I feel so light, like I might float.
I was a gifted child. Everyone thinks you’ll be successful if you’re gifted. The truth is, it doesn’t matter. If you can’t do well socially, you’re not given the same opportunities. I can mask in most situations, but I falter in high-stress interviews. #MyAutisticTruth
I can’t prioritize tasks
If I have several things to get done, my brain wants to do them all simultaneously and I freeze
I often have to optimize the task list as I go and that leads to a lot of doubling back, retracing my steps, etc.
My interests were ridiculed for many years. It got to the point where I would hide what I was watching, reading, or doing when anyone entered the room in order to avoid mockery.
I had to grow back into my comfort and be okay with enjoying my interests around other people again.
Wow….no, it’s a job. I think it’s a pretty privileged viewpoint if you view it as a lifestyle. I go to work to get paid, my salary then pays for my lifestyle, which has nothing in common with my job! And that’s ok!
Fact. Medical trauma can take autistic lives early.
I don’t do docs unless I’m dying & if I’m dying, it’s too late; many autists rationalize this avoidance. We’re most likely to be the ones labeled dramatic, irrational & a hypochondriac. We’re spoken down to. Neglected. Dismissed
