.@MarkRuffalo the actor recommended the movie PALESTINE 36 and I watched it on Prime (costs $6,99)and it is a must heartbreaking watch. It focuses on the British 1936 partition plan of Palestine and the bloodshed as Palestinians revolted over loss of their land. The cruelty and brutality of the British vs Palestinians was on full display but was not surprising to me bc I was involved in the struggle for peace and justice in Northern Ireland where the Brits committed atrocities against the Irish.

“Palestine 36”: The Story of a History That Has Still Not Become “History”
by Manish Azad
https://t.co/1yAvuTvq4R
Manish Azad’s review of the film "Palestine 36" examines how Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir reconstructs the Arab Revolt of 1936–39 and connects it to the continuing violence in Palestine. The review discusses the film’s portrayal of British imperial rule, Zionist settlement, class divisions, resistance, and everyday Palestinian life before the creation of Israel. It also reflects on the film’s strong women characters, Muslim-Christian unity, and historical realism. Through this film review, the article argues that the roots of the present crisis in Gaza and Palestine lie deep in colonial history that remains unresolved today.

I had posted about Mārama last week when it was briefly available on Fandango at Home. It was later removed. This was probably the reason.
