A brief moment on a breezy, sunny day ~ Monet’s veiled wife Camille & son Jean glance at us from a grassy flower-strewn hill, the colours of their clothing echo the sky & the parasol echoes the grass. Monet gave this to his homeopath in payment of medical bills (The Stroll, 1875)

@artinsociety I often wonder what Vermeer would have thought about Monet, and especially this painting. It is so satisfyingly beautiful. You might be interested to know that I have an original hand-written letter of Monet's. I used to collect letters, autographs, signed first editions etc ...
