*Dodgers baseball player enters a baseball game wearing a Dodgers hat*
People with “coexist” bumper stickers who’ve never watched a second of baseball: “this is worse than 9/11”
However this season finishes, Mark Pope needs to build a roster true to his coaching philosophies next season.
Build a roster of players that fit in your offense, and have proven that. A roster that has 3-4 shooters on the floor at any given time, and that understand why they’re moving, screening, cutting, or their spacing at a given moment. Fit has to matter more than raw measurables or theoretical upside based on analytics. A roster that forces other teams to adjust to your pace and playstyle.
Last season worked because players knew their role and accepted them, even if it meant not getting a lot of touches. They understood the scouting report, and were committed to each screen and each cut. They had a chip on their shoulder to prove they belonged.
🚨 JUST IN: Greg Biffle and his family were aboard his jet when it crashed this morning in Statesville, NC, his close friend Garrett Mitchell confirmed
There were no survivors.
Biffle was an absolute HERO, and I personally worked with him in Western NC after Helene as he risked his own life using his personal helicopter to save COUNTLESS lives.
He delivered chainsaws, EpiPens, baby formula, fuel, and food to stranded families in inaccessible places surrounded by flood water, and asked for nothing from anybody.
This is a tremendous loss for our country. I’m so sick to my stomach over this.
Rest in peace, Greg, Cristina, Emma, and Ryder 🙏🏻
