This is a PSA: Omaha had flooding yesterday, and I’m an insurance agent. So, as you can imagine, the calls were coming in today about water in basements.

So, I repeatedly had to deliver the news that there is no coverage for groundwater because it’s not a covered peril.😞

(Friends, there is no coverage for groundwater on homeowner policies.)

None.

Even a flood policy doesn’t cover it.

If you have sump-pump backup coverage, you may stand a chance at getting it covered, but it’s not a guarantee.

Another pro tip: Don’t drive through a flooded street! It will not end well (although it is covered by comprehensive coverage, you may have a total loss)!

So at the end of the growing season I strip all the leaves off the plants in order for the plant to push all its energy to the peppers 🌶️🌶️🌶️

So today I fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting ✨the Driftless✨, a unique geological region of the Midwest which retained its ancient Paleozoic topography, while most of the land was transformed by drifting ice sheets during the last glacial maximum. Freaking incredible.
