@JakubKrupa@guardian Nor does Zelenskyi was involved in choosing of naming, which is opposite of what article says.I agree that he bares responsibility for approving it, but UPA popularity in some unit, and government chosing to create a new unit with this controversial name, 2 different strories
@JakubKrupa@guardian Quote "his decision last month to name a military unit after the UPA" how much truth is here? it's not his decision to name a military unit after UPA, decision is to approve renaming of already existing reginment, it's not a new unit which reader can think reading this article
@JakubKrupa@guardian If Zelenskyi would have chosen himself to name the regiment after UPA tomorrowto honour them, instead of just aproving unit desire, you would write this article exactly the same aside the last paragrapth, you don't see the problem with that?
@JakubKrupa@guardian I'm not arguing morale here. But firstly it was not naming, but renaming already existing reginment(already lost context), secondly "his naming" and "his decision to name" is incorrect framing. He aproved it, but didn't chosen it like article imply.Article should say it like it is
@JakubKrupa@guardian The story says 3 times that it was Zelenskyi decision to name unit like that, which is a lie, only on the last paragraph you quote Zelenskyi own words that disprove nonsense that was written before, about him naming the unit. Just delete untruthful part? instead of doubling down.
@baszar_al_pasat I will agree to whatever you say if you provide sources that there was attempt to solve privately through diplomatic channels this issue before making it public. First was public summon of Ukrainian ambassador, on next day Nawrocki already attacked Zelenskyi, that's it.
@AjDowejko Zelenskyi didn't force Nawrocki attack Ukraine, and take back orden as if it's a toy.He didn't force Nawrocki make a public scandal, instead of reaching out privately through diplomatic channels. This hysteria is amusing.
@MartynaWolak4 Sources?Because that's not true, Ukraine never asked Poland to take in refugees. Sure, Zelenskyi said words of gratitude to every country where refugees felt welcomed, but he would prefer them to stay, and never asked any country to take them in,Poland never had such request.
@MartynaWolak4 If they are not commodity, why bring them up in first place, framing that Ukraine asked to take them in is false. Secondly they more than likely will stay in Poland. That was humanitarian aid to those specific people,it has nothing to do to to the subject right now.
@baszar_al_pasat Zelenskyi approved regiment renaming that they asked, the last thing on his mind was was Nawrocki. You keep ignoring fact that Nawrocki specifically skipped step of reaching through diplomatic channels privately, which how usually things are done if there is a problem.
@baszar_al_pasat I think it's done because Ukraine and Poland has planned conference about future rebuilding and future business contracts, and Nawrocki wasn't part of it. By making this scandal, now Tusk looks weak, and Nawrocki get Polish people support on this issue that he started right now.
@baszar_al_pasat How he caused this?It was just a dull procedure of regiment asking for renaming, not directed at poland , because UPA did kill a lot of russians, sure, history is complicated, Nawrocki if that was a real issue should have privately through diplomatic channels send a message.
