@ChrisMurray2010 Shut UP. I realise I haven't seen you since ineffectually testing you and Stephen M on your undergrad French vocab, but this is my favourite thing EVER to see in my 'For You' feed. Congratulations! (/félicitations amirite) 🌹
@alice_rowan Oh yes, I think there is a handsome gulf between its intentions and its effect. The day we become copywriteers is the day I leave this planet🫡
@alice_rowan I think it's to make the job sound adventurous and piratical, à la pioneer, buccaneer etc. while in reality we spend most of our time in a windowless booth wired to a computer. See also: ninjas, rockstars...
@HMRCcustomers Thank you Anas, I was not aware of that, so no interest? Please could you send me a link to where it says this on your website? Also where can I feed back about the missed payment? From the confirmation email and app process, I had no way of knowing it had failed until today.
@HMRCcustomers I set up a payment via the HMRC app scheduled for today, back on 16 December. All confirmed in HMRC email. Payment hasn't gone out. Just called my bank and it turns out all your app did was set up a payee, not schedule a payment. This is really worrying.
@stuck_inabook @colinjthomas And note that you're safe to shake your head as much as you like, because you're not at risk of losing a £230 headphone down a storm drain in the process.
Sorry but this is a direct quote of Dwight's acceptance speech at the Salesman of the Year Awards. (Maybe sub in finger-pointing for lectern-banging.) Blood alone moves the wheels of history.
I cannot stop watching this. It’s one of the most peculiar things I’ve ever seen, which given the venue, is really saying something. Get to the end (if you can).
