Credit where it’s due. With the Sixers staring straight at a devastating, probably franchise-altering “We blew a 16-point 2nd half lead at home and watched Al Horford lock down Joel Embiid” loss, Harden did this to absolutely save their asses:
James Harden in tonight's Game 4:
42 points (16/23 FG, 6/9 3PT)
8 rebounds
9 assists (1 TO)
4 steals
1 block
Incredible performance to lead the Sixers to a win and carry them through the 4th quarter and OT.
Just spitballing here, but James Harden my guy, maybe instead of a $100K Rolex, you could just get Joel Embiid something better than a 1-11 with 5 turnovers performance?

THERAPIST: so, what's been going on since our last appointment?
ME: [deep sigh, stares out window into driving rain] ... the philadelphia 76ers are at it again
@AndyGlockner Ah, I had that wrong. That’s on me!
As far as what we’re doing here… I guess we’re each stumping for our guys. And I like Jokic a lot! But we all have our agendas, and I guess I just feel like you try to dress your takes up as pure analysis at times.
@AndyGlockner I also think Embiid’s going to get more criticism now that he’s actually won an MVP. It inherently seems more fair to level more criticism at the two-time MVP who can’t get to a conference finals rather than the zero-time MVP who can’t get to the conference finals.
@AndyGlockner This looks like it’s going to change this year, but: grouping Jokic with two guys who have won titles instead of the other guy who also hasn’t gotten out of the 2nd round is some selective framing.
@bcal314 It wasn’t a reverse jinx! Game was long over at this point.
Tonight was obviously an extreme example and the Embiid/Harden duo can win games on their own… but it’s nice to have more outs when, say, your best player only scores 7 points. And the C’s do.
Difference in quality depth between these teams rearing its head tonight. White and Brogdon with huge games and Grant Williams giving quality minutes… while Niang, McDaniels and even Tucker have looked unplayable. It’s an issue.
Blackburn 1-1 Luton.
Two matches against the top three, the better side across the 180 minutes… and one point to show for it. A shame with how they’ve played at times this year, but only themselves to blame for being winless since March 15.

538 preseason odds:
Ashley Barnes blocks a shot with his arm in the box in the dying moments ignored by referee Tim Robinson and his linesman. And it’s over and Burnley are champions.
I assume the Texans just take Will Anderson at 2 (if they’re serious about not liking Stroud) but if he’s there at 3, the trade value chart says 10, 30 and 62 is roughly worth No. 3.
Just sayin’.
