Ronan Farrow’s New Yorker piece on Sam Altman is deeply concerning. Giving this much power to someone few truly trust feels scary.
“[Altman’s] greatest strength has always been his ability to convince disparate groups that what he wants and what they need are one and the same.”
In the Tucker Carlson interview, after Carlson raised a lawsuit where ChatGPT appeared to facilitate a suicide, Altman quickly pivoted to lobbying Congress for “AI privilege” legislation — framed as user privacy, but happens to also shield OpenAI from legal accountability.
Nobody seemed to clock it. After reading Farrow, it’s easy to see how lawmakers might eagerly accommodate this.

Kyle has been using others to stay relevant but it's become uncomfortable watching her manipulate everyone. Andy must see her as another Erica (General Hospital) but Kyle’s doing it to real people not characters. So it’s hard to watch knowing she will continue to be praised and rewarded for hurting people. Makes me question the kind of people in production.
It’s sad to see Kyle continue to do what she does and for Andy to back her like he did Bethany Frankle. He turned on his years long friend to back BF despite most people seek gcso clearly the issue. Here we are again. Kyle has production and Andy under her control so Dorit is screwed.
Chamath Palihapitiya: "In Silicon Valley, I think it's fair to say we have had a lost decade… In one example, you have Elon. He's created reusable rocketry… electric cars… [while] fighting the government… We've created AirPods and Instagram Reels."
