Today is World AIDS day. It’s a day to bring awareness. It’s a day to know your status and get tested. It’s a day to fight the stigma those who are living with HIV and AIDS face. Today is a day to do the work together.
It’s telling that the trans community gets two recognized “holidays” annually. The trans day of visibility, where we ask to exist, and today, the trans day of remembrance, where we mourn the losses of trans people to hate and violence.
It has always been our mission at GOAL to
support those marginalized communities….communities we belong to. Today, on the TDOR, we mourn the loss of trans siblings here and around the world, and renew our pledge to always do the work.
Yesterday, the NYPD honored 42 fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the public they proudly served.
Their names are forever etched in the Hall of Heroes at Police Headquarters as we continue to #NeverForget their legacies.
