@IanDarke The trouble with VAR people will always look for certainty where it doesn’t exist. I think there will always be decisions that are borderline and can. He given either way
@IanDarke Their tactics put them in a penalty shootout with a superior keeper, so hard to argue. If you can only get 3 of the 5 penalties on target, then it’s unlikely you come through the shootout
@MatthewTorbitt In many ways those who are sharing their shock on social media are feeding the beast. What will make her stop doing stuff like this is people just ignoring it. It’s the attention (positive or negative) that keeps her going
@Gazarelda@Dan_1884@secondtierpod@JPercyTelegraph He could become the most revered legend, could go on a losing streak in the championship and get sacked. The only guarantee is the contract and I would never criticise someone (especially one without big playing career like Skubala) for prioritising financial security
@Gazarelda@Dan_1884@secondtierpod@JPercyTelegraph I suspect the main motivation is money and don’t have an issue with that. In other professions we just accept people move from one job to another for more money.
@Gazarelda@Dan_1884@secondtierpod@JPercyTelegraph People move jobs for money in every profession. Lincoln will likely bring in players this season on more money than they were on at their previous club. Unfortunately loyalty doesn’t pay the bills.
@charliekeegan@nomadicbolton Easier to talk about loyalty and legacy when you have the earnings of a lucrative playing career to fall back on. I assume Skubala hasn’t made millions from the game, so will also need to consider his future.
@_TomClarke Wonder if some will feel it’s too difficult an act to follow? Wonder what the best option is championship experience, someone lower down the pyramid looking for the opportunity, or someone with similar background to Skubala
@charliekeegan@nomadicbolton He could finish mid table with Lincoln, he could also finish bottom 3. Any team with a bottom 3 wage bill can’t rule relegation out as a possibility. There are risks of sticking or twisting. Also can’t discount the attraction of a job with higher wages.
@jm_bell95 The calculation for him however is what if he doesn’t keep them up. There is no guarantees with Lincoln’s likely wage bill. Fail at Bristol City he will likely still get a top league one team who will pay more than Lincoln, succeed and he has a chance to get to the EPL
@Gazarelda@secondtierpod@JPercyTelegraph Being Lincoln’s most celebrated manager won’t pay the bills. He is not someone who had a big playing career where he will have earned a fortune.
@Millar_Colin It’s great for the individual teams, but not really for the competitions. Then again these EPL teams are playing clubs with championship budgets so what do people expect
@JimA1889@secondtierpod Hull manager would be my choice as well. At same time I find a transfer embargo where you can still sign free transfers a but strange. Due to wages some free transfers cost more than some deals with a fee involved
@GabSutton Watching from afar they seem to have become a little more pragmatic than they were in the past. I could never have seen the NC of the last few seasons grounding out a 0-0 like against Chesterfield
