Eminem never knew his dad.

Eminem had a non-existent relationship with his father, Marshall Bruce Mathers II, the latter abandoned the family when Eminem was a baby, leaving his mother in charge of raising him.

Eminem has spoken openly about the negative impact his father's absence had on his life, both in interviews and in his songs. In songs like "Cleanin' Out My Closet" he expresses his anger and pain at having been abandoned.

Throughout #Marshall's youth, the rapper tried to contact his father by sending him letters, but never received a response. This lack of connection contributed to their resentment.

Over the years, there have been several attempts by Eminem's father to reconnect with him, especially after Eminem rose to fame.

On one occasion, Marshall Bruce Mathers II published an open letter in a newspaper, trying to justify his absence and express his desire to be reunited with his son, saying that his mother had taken him away from him. However, Eminem showed no interest in reconciling.

Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. passed away in June 2019 at age 67. He reportedly died due to cardiac arrest.
