And taxpayers help fund the universities feeding both sides of the pipeline.

This may be the best argument yet for eliminating it.

The 60-day grace period exists for workers after their H-1B employment ends. It isn’t supposed to be an insurance policy so someone can comfortably quit one sponsor and shop their labor to another.

And think about the argument being made:

We need to preserve a special federal immigration benefit so foreign workers can give their employers more notice when switching jobs?

American workers manage to change jobs without a 60-day immigration cushion.

H-1B is supposed to be a temporary, employer-sponsored visa, not portable work authorization with a government-provided safety net between employers.
