@SymplyTonbra Katara isn't a traditional water bender, she has the best feats of any waterbender. From learning blood bending upon seeing it, to multiple resurrections, to mastering ever sub element of water in her time, to parting the sea. No one else compares.
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky Voting system and laws. However, one of the ruling figures was actually trying to oppress the non-benders with unlawful violence, so Aang stepped him. He doesn't really have any part to play in the structure and system of the nation.
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky Aang didn't created the system or play any part in it. Aang stopped the war that was about to be had over the colonies and left them to fend for themselves with aid from the fire and earth kingdom. He returned the Yu Dao years later and discovered they now have a ruling party-
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky I would definitely say the rules of the fifth nation are a lot different from the others in Atla. They don't run on a monarchy and actually need to have court cases, witnesses and multiple evidences to lock up someone who isn't even of regal descent.
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky Aang wasn't about to die when he entered the avatar state and I'm pretty sure everyone would know an extremely skilled water bender with no amp whatsoever is still no match to the freaking avatar. And they all knew Aang had other options that don't involve killing
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky Obviously, there are some jobs that will mainly be for benders and those jobs may pay higher than the regular non-bender salary. But non-benders also now take jobs that only benders could. That's not oppression, that's inequality, that's something that's bound to exist-
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky The denied have no affiliation with the equalists or Republic city. We don't even know what nation they originate from, we just know they were a problem for everybody, not just the United Republic of Nations like the Equalists were.
@errmmmto@adewale_ad30628 And I also can't stress enough how Korra's trauma response was a direct result of her feeling powerless and helpless, which isn't something Aang would necessarily suffer from considering from day one, he has known to rely on others.
@errmmmto@adewale_ad30628 No two people experience trauma the exact same way. Especially not when the two people are so different character-wise. Aang has dealt with arguably the most amount of trauma of any character in the verse so far and he doesn't let that hinder him the way Korra's did.
@errmmmto@adewale_ad30628 Your reasons for that don't apply. The avatar state was Korra's lifeline and would be his too, not their base physical bodies. Spirituality has nothing to do with anything, it's purely a physical attack
@errmmmto@adewale_ad30628 That saved her was the avatar state, the same ability Aang has. If Korra's base physical capability was the reason she lasted that long then she wouldn't have been forced into the avatar state. It boosted her physicals and that's why she was able to last that long.
@Kenzztz@DanHarmone@ChibRisky It wouldn't have been self defense, it would have been excessive use of force in the name of self defense, which is a crime. Aang could easily overpower him with the avatar state and take his bending, anything more is excessive force.
