St. Elizabeth of Portugal (1271–1336) was a princess of Aragon who became Queen of Portugal through her marriage to King Denis. Deeply devoted to Christ, she dedicated her life to prayer, caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, building hospitals, and bringing peace wherever there was conflict.

She is especially remembered for courageously reconciling disputes, even preventing war between her husband and their son.

A cherished tradition also recalls the Miracle of the Roses, when the bread she was secretly carrying to the poor was miraculously changed into roses. Canonised in 1625 by Pope Urban VIII,

St. Elizabeth remains a shining example of charity, peacemaking, and humble service. Her feast is celebrated on 4th July.

Prayer to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

Heavenly Father,

Today I come before You with a heart that feels tangled.

Some knots were tied by fear.
Some by worry.
Some by mistakes I've made.
Some by pain I never asked for.

And some... I don't even know how they got there.

Blessed Mother, Our Lady, Undoer of Knots, I ask you to gently take these burdens into your loving hands.

Untie every knot that keeps me from trusting God completely.

Untie the knot of anxiety that steals my peace.

Untie the knot of resentment that weighs down my heart.

Untie the knot of financial worry, broken relationships, unanswered prayers, illness, and discouragement.

Where I see no way forward, help me believe that God is already preparing one.

Where I have become impatient, teach me to wait with faith.

Where I have lost hope, remind me that nothing is impossible for God.

Mother Mary, wrap your mantle around every person reading this prayer today.

Comfort the weary.

Strengthen the discouraged.

Bring healing to the sick.

Restore families.

Open doors that only God can open.

And gently untie every knot that keeps us from living in His peace.

Jesus, I place my life into Your hands.

I trust that even when I cannot see what You are doing, You are working for my good.

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots,

Pray for us.

The Ascension of Jesus into heaven means his physical separation from his disciples and us. But unlike other human separations that do cause us grief and sadness, the Ascension of Jesus rather calls for joy because Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us in His Father's kingdom.
