If you've ever lived somewhere with an economy that's heavily dependent on tourism, you already know what the locals mean when they talk about "the season."

Any time of year that isn't "the season" is "the off-season." It's a similarly economic demarcation of time.

Lately I wonder whether the contemporary idea of zodiacal "seasons" isn't somehow an extension of consumer capitalist temporality.

We talk about "the holiday season" and "back-to-school season," and sometimes it seems like "Aries season" etc. segments time in a similar manner.
