I just calculated a forward motion of 72 kt (83 mph) on this TVS near Ames at 3:49 pm. Reflectivity pictured here, but I used the TVS on velocity for measurement. This is the fastest movement I can recall seeing (personally) in 31 years of looking at WSR-88D data.

@thestormandsky Ha! But you should rest easy: that thing is notorious for overheating. I'm in the Sony ecosystem and considered it for video, too, but ruled it out bc of that, and it's clunky if you want to shoot stills. Not a good camera IMO

Excellent example of "nudger theory" at work here. Supercells that were all by themselves rarely produced significant tornadoes in our study.
