Apparently the speaker is giving a statement shortly in front of the house chamber. I’ve asked Republican colleagues what might be said, and to a person they were unaware that this would be happening. The governor is huddling with the speaker in the speakers office now.
An Oklahoma man was just 22 when he was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1974 death of a woman at a local liquor store.
Now, 48 years later, Simmons, age 70, has officially had his case dismissed.
