@WxFront I noticed there's a 3 minute delay for new radar scans to show up on canadian radars (the american ones seem to refresh in less than a minute). I was wondering if it's a glitch, or a limitation of some sort?
@PezexWx@WxFront If they manage to get the canadian ones, that would be a game changer! 😇
I've got a few projects on hold exactly for that reason, trying to find radar data from a few years back and opening it in a fully customizable radar app (just like opening Nexrad data in GR2 for example).
Check out this incredible 3D data from out parachute sensor launched by air cannon into the wedge #tornado near Blue Springs, Kansas. The sensor did three loops around the tornado and shows the dynamic pipe widening with height. This is @WillClay25 heroic efforts
@johnkuhlmannwx@AdamLucioWX 2000 bitrate can look pretty good if you encode in HEVC instead of the good old H264, assuming the streaming protocol that you're using supports it (YouTube only accepts HEVC encoded streams when using HLS protocol instead of RTMPS).
@WxWiseApp Another thing that would be amazing to have is the ability to click on the map to get a "forecast sounding" popup to show up (with the skew-t, hodograph, etc), just like it does on the Pivotal Weather and COD websites!
