Members of the Federal Air Marshals Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response Team (VIPR) are conducting patrols in partnership with SEPTA Transit Police this week.

VIPR was formed after the 2005 Madrid train bombings to prevent terrorist attacks on transit and have supplemented SEPTA Transit Police patrols for major events such as the Eagles Championship Parades and the DNC.

VIPR teams typically work on the system with SEPTA Transit Police once a month. They wear tan pants, black shirts, and vests with “Department of Homeland Security” printed on the back.

Non-Profit Health Partners Plans had an event at the Philadelphia Zoo to kick off the back-to-school season today. Kids were given free school supplies and there was a scavenger hunt in the Zoo along with other activities. @FOX29philly
