Most Kampala wedding videos all look the same.
There are 98% chances that it will have a song playing in the background, then highlights of the event. No story. Sometimes you will watch it to enjoy the song. Go watch the Kwanjula videos on YT. Dancing, slowMo effects, The END

And here’s why, your people are not intentional about wedding speeches. One time I was watching a video online and the speaker was going on about how the bride used to bite them when they were young.
I listened more to see how this relates to the day but but…

We make the jobs of the video editors quite hard. You will listen to a 40minutes speech and fail to get 1minute that’s usable. This is where client ends up with a song going over the picture highlights.
I used to fight with my editors until I understood their challenges

This can be better. We can do this together and get rid of these boring wedding videos. Be intentional about the speeches, let them be about the couple. Yes you have known groom since P3 and maybe the guests would love to hear how long it’s been but can it about the couple?

You know you have a wedding in August.
Start writing your speech now, keep editing. Find inspiration of wedding speeches online, get something and make it personal.
If you are friend, Learn about the couple, how their being together is a good thing and has grown them individually. Something!

Couples. We would love to listen and learn about the love you have for each other. Why that’s your favorite person. It’s nice to thank people for coming and contributing but your partner is just there with you. Make it about them, about you. Let’s make these videos beautiful

See those sweet videos you see on YouTube? Those people are intentional.
You on the hand do this below;
-You rush your video people.
-You don’t listen.
-You don’t have usable speeches.
-You are not intentional about getting this content(‘I can’t see my partner before church’)

Dear bride/groom. It’s actually this simple.
A simple google search can come in handy.
Let your grandchildren watch your wedding video 50years later and see something.
You are intentional about your hired wedding(visit 3shops), do this too for your wedding speech.

The videos we all have are the same. It’s just different people, different hotels. Same concepts. Shaky stories. I am guilty. It pains me. I want this to be better.
