Took a train down to the Kippenberg group with some colleagues to see how they generate frequency combs from microrings. Started to wonder if the secret to publishing Nature papers is being surrounded by a lot of nice and highly distracting nature? @PhotonicsUGent#EPFL
Very pleased to see @IvoTanghe among the #PhDCup finalists!
And even more pleased to read that he wants to inform people about the beauty and possibilities of photonics!
Ook dit jaar geeft de Vlaamse #PhDCup een podium aan jonge topwetenschappers! 🏆 Ontdek de 16 geselecteerden op https://t.co/T7O9w4hTS5

Had a great time at CLEO-PR last week in Korea. Got to show the Pacific Rim how well (or perhaps not so well) our transfer-printed saturable absorbers are currently working. 😀🇰🇷

The plans for the next six months are exciting: the integration process for the single components is being optimized while we are already preparing to realize the first quantum circuits combining sources and detectors or sources and switches. The project is funded by @QuantERA_EU
Last week, the uTP4Q project (https://t.co/2LN2HN4Qzp) had its 5th general meeting at @HeidelbergU.
The aim is to develop a unified #quantum#photonic integrated circuits platform by using Micro-Transfer Printing to integrate components such as single photon sources & detectors.
It was a very productive few days consisting of presentations on the results so far, deep discussions on how to proceed and strengthening the collaboration by enjoying the food and culture of the city of Heidelberg together.
@ugent@ugent_fea 🗓️ en voor álle geïnteresseerde bedrijven: op 13 september staat er een BeQCI Community Event gepland in Brussel: https://t.co/DXk8tKTV5f
PR- New leap in Belgian quantum communication infrastructure: imec, UGent & Belnet realise first QKD links.
This is a big step in the quantum cryptography project, which aims to transmit data 100% safe & uninterceptably, using quantum physics principles.

Impressive work from @KasperVanGasse (done during his time @StanfordPhoton1). Looking forward to the continuation of his work on solid-state laser integration in our group!
🎉 Excited to announce our latest publication in Nature! 🚀
In "Titanium:sapphire-on-insulator integrated lasers and amplifiers" we demonstrate a major advancement in photonic laser integration, achieved in the @StanfordPhoton1 lab of Jelena Vučković at @Stanford University.
