A majority of cruise missiles have wings, that’s what makes them cruise. This however has wings because it was a Learjet 60, and a cruise missile would have levelled a decent chunk of the entire block because they’re actually made to explode and have warheads, unlike commercial aircraft.

Sadly the point is to stay calm in the moment so you can have your emotions later, unfortunately this looked like a nearly unavoidable circumstance with the cards not dealt in the favour of the pilot, nor anyone else on board.
