It's awesome to see a video about something so near to my own research, but that means I notice the problems - Please @SciShow, fix the number of bonds you say are between atoms in Lonsdaleite! Also a shame you didn't talk about Kathline Lonsdale who it was named after.
While diamonds are the hardest naturally-occurring mineral on Earth, they may have to make some room at the top of the Moh's Scale. Meteorites have crash-landed with a space-based mineral competitor that might be harder. https://t.co/HM3x76VwFf
Hiya! I'm a scientist who loves to learn new things and sing about them.
I research ways to fight allergy and tuberculosis at, while also trying to empower and inspire the next generation of young scientists.

I hear we can post demands. I have a few to start:
1. Every PhD student in Melbourne and Sydney immediately gets a 6mth extension with full scholarship
2. Every nurse is immediately given a 'hazard pay' bonus of $10k.
3. Make me CEO of the ARC for a month.
I’m looking for 2 new PhD students! One will develop machine-learning for interrogating @4DMedicalXV functional lung imaging data, the other will use small/large animal models to understand development of lung disease, and effects on XV parameters. Contact me for details! @_ALHI_
At our research meeting today some Melbourne-based colleagues said they couldn't get to their experiments this week BECAUSE OF THE RIOTS.
Oh my dear Melb. Its been a time huh. 💜
I am also frustrated that the ARC thinks that RO = the sector. The ROs do a good job but they are not going to lead a sector-wide push back the likes of which we have seen. This issue pushed by the individual researchers and the professional bodies like @ausphysics@RACInational
Intraplate earthquakes are not as frequent as quakes at the plate boundary, but they happen in most plates. The Australia plate has averaged a quake as large as today's M5.9 about once per decade. https://t.co/yrYQ1s31yp
Excellent to watch Prof Nanda Dasgupta leading this program by @ourANU to build sovereign capability in teaching & education of nuclear physics. 💪
Nanda is one of my ♀️Physicist role models - along with the always awesome @DrCathyFoley & @tanyamonro

So I'm using #ComputerVision to identify birds when they visit our birdfeeder. Is this a good use of my time? Maybe? Is it good practice coding? Absolutely! #pythonprogramming#makers
I hope @ANSTO can comment on what Australia's intention to go nuclear for its submarines will mean for nuclear power, production, and research in Australia
WOW - so I must admit I did not have 'Australia starts to develop nuclear powered systems' on my 2021 bingo card.
Looks like we are going to need a lot of physicists...💪
