Marcus Aurelius wrote this over 1800 years ago:
“When you arise in the morning think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love.”
Neither of these men are married or have kids.
Both are simply obsessed with their own personal perfection and optimization.
There is nothing impressive about a single man with no kids sleeping well and being fit.
Show me a man with young children, a full time job, disrupted sleep, who works out regularly, eats healthy, trains Jui Jitsu, with a muscular body…
THIS is impressive. THIS requires extreme discipline.
Canceling school at 5pm the night before because of winter weather takes away an elite childhood morning experience. That unexpected extra morning sleep/Sportscenter time after seeing your school district on the ticker was an all timer.
Brady Cook, I just want you to know that the sacrifice of your NFL career to allow the Jets to pick at 2 will not be forgotten. Quite possibly the greatest tank commander of all time. Your name will go down in the history books young man.
Hear me out. The Jets should hire Jim Leonhard as defensive coordinator. Former Jet and NFL vet who played under Rex. Built multiple top five defenses at Wisconsin as a play caller. Proven teacher, proven leader, proven at every level. #JetUp
Mets fans everywhere. I owe you an apology . You did your part by showing up and supporting the team. We didn’t do our part. We will do a post-mortem and figure out the obvious and less obvious reasons why the team didn’t perform up to your and my expectations
We are all feeling raw emotions today. I know how much time and effort you have put into this team. The result was unacceptable. Your emotions tell me how much you care and continues to motivate the organization to do better. Thank You to the best fans in sports.
The best feeling is winning knowing how much room for growth you have. Jobs never done. We haven’t tapped in to our potential yet. Gonna be a fun season just don’t hop off the train and try to hop back on. All in or All out!🤞🏾 #JetsWin
Acknowledging the complexity and multidimensional nature of pain does not mean that our treatments must be complicated or that simple interventions are useless.
To me, it means we have a lot of options for MANY different simple interventions to be helpful
The best antidote to burnout is not teaching people coping skills to handle stress. It's redesigning work to reduce stress.
The cure for exhaustion is removing overwhelming demands and the norm of self-sacrifice.
Healthy workplaces value well-being as much as performance.
