The statue below is in front of the offices of the Sant'Egidio Community in Trastevere. They have an amazing outreach to the poor, centered in prayer.
Day 4 in Rome. I continue to pray for you. This is the container that held the skin of the apostle Bartholomew when he was martyred by being skinned alive. Happy Monday! 😉
His contemporary (also later a canonized saint), Filippo (Philip) Neri derided him and told him that since he couldn't manage the basics of his life, he'd never succeed.
