Why isn't the most confident pick ranked number one?
Because rank is not confidence. It blends confidence and EV with how that model has performed and how well calibrated its past probabilities were. One ranked pick per game, and each must clear a minimum edge to be ranked at all.
On the Sep 11 board, a 73% call ranked fourth, behind a 65% call at number one.

A confident pick and a good bet are not the same thing.
Confidence is the model's estimated chance the pick wins. EV is how far that sits above the price the book is offering. A 58% call at a cheap number can carry more edge than a 90% call that is fully priced. That gap is the whole job.
Both numbers sit on every pick, before the game starts.

Sunday slate. The calls are already logged.
The models scan the full board every morning, NFL and MLB both, and publish their highest confidence picks with the edge they see over the book. That happens before anyone kicks off. Then every one of them gets graded, wins and losses alike.
