The goal is to derail the conversation by making it about you and how you must defend an accusation (that you didn't even make). This is known as "strawmanning" and Aisha Yesufu is a pro at it.

It's the same with BBOG. I've always said "BBOG - regardless of how or why it began - was used by the US government as the 'Big Idea' in the marketing campaign that was part of the 2015 regime change operation in Nigeria, and that some of the principal actors like her knew that they were being used, and by whom.
