@pgmuscat I suspect that a larger proportion of genuinely original game concepts fail to land with the audience than the proportion of polished genre games which fail to engage. I suspect that for every 'Papers Please' there are a ten popular Metrovania- or Souls-Likes with big fanbases.
Two words, each hundreds of years old, that are still worth holding on to: ‘respair’: fresh hope, and ‘resipiscence’: a return to a better frame of mind.
Here’s to both in 2023. Happy New Year.
So let me get this straight... Andrew Tate got arrested by Romanian police from evidence he freely showed in a video he made to complain about the treatment he received from @GretaThunberg (and the rest of the world) after he tried to pick a fight with her?
That 'bout right?
@GretaThunberg That sums up Andrew Tate in a nutshell.
So many big cars, so much luggage space, such a huge carbon footprint, but still not enough room for one narcisstic self-own.
I have a new game to play. Look for any trending topic that carries the faint whiff of misogyny, click through to the latest tweets, and see how many "blue-tick" accounts you can find that have <100 followers.
@BrentNYT The fact he is bringing in techs from other industries who are just now "coming up to speed" suggests to me that Elon is mistaking familiarity for competence. That's a lot of slow, deep knowledge walking out the door.
@meganjherbert When @StephenKing stated that he would leave Twitter rather than pay for his blue check, and Elon countered with an offer of $8/month... Whoever is writing this soap opera is not paid enough.
@meganjherbert Haven't looked into it but it appears to be part of a greater, Australia-wide push for renewable investment. $1.5B nationally for off-shore wind power announced yesterday.
Apparently voting does matter.
@TheLisaGilroy So true! Why can't people be better?! Reminds me of the time this guy I know, a cool israeli dude, ran self-help seminars about the power of forgiveness and turning the other cheek. 1/2 his students then went out and bought guns to kill the other half. And said he told them to!
@meganjherbert We build our infrastructure on an environment that we assume will change more slowly than the infrastructure will degrade. Climate change, global warming, turns this on its head. Slower, more powerful cycles speed up, and our (human) world is turned on its head.
When English teachers wish to instruct students on the art of the persuasive piece, they need look no further than this: https://t.co/b1t2vVWOx1
Brilliant!

@NBN_Australia So @NBN_Australia still want me to log this with my ISP, who are not allowed to log it with NBN unless there are 5 disconnections in 24 hours while they are actively monitoring the line. And, as am not a rain god, I cannot force the weather to play ball. This is ridiculous!
@NBN_Australia Quick question - I know that I have to demonstrate 5 dropouts over 24h before your techs will get off their butts to look at something, and only if the ISP is actively monitoring the line at the time - but what about if we can prove the bare copper is exposed?
@NBN_Australia Every time it rains I lost internet access. I can't ring my ISP every time it looks cloudy and say "This is it, this is the day we catch 5 outages." It is a ridiculously high standard of failure, esp. given you should be monitoring your network and able to detect this yourselves!
@NBN_Australia I logged a ticket with my ISP who stated that NBN require them to monitor the line and demonstrate 5 outages in 24 hours before you will respond. Given this is the threshold you provide the ISPs, how can they log a ticket with you?
