I don’t particularly like Man U, but Carrick dragged them into the Champions League last season and improved their league performances with mediocre players, he should have been given better players in the transfer window, if I were him I’d let Man U get on with it.
🚨 Bruno Fernandes on his explosive altercation with Michael Carrick after Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth:
“I went straight to him after the final whistle. I wanted an explanation. I looked him in the eyes and asked, ‘Why didn't you play me? What exactly was I supposed to do sitting on that bench while the team was falling apart?’
He looked at me and said, ‘I'm the coach, Bruno. I'm the one who makes the decisions, not you.’
And that's when things got heated.
I told him, ‘Then start making decisions that help this football club win football matches! Did you watch what happened out there? We lost 3-0, Michael! Three-nil! And you want to stand here telling me you're the coach?’
I told him Manchester United is nothing without me, and he should have learned that by now.** I'm not saying I'm bigger than this club, but look at the responsibility I've carried for this team. When things go wrong, I'm usually the one trying to make something happen.
Then he looked at me and said, ‘Nobody is bigger than Manchester United.’
I told him, ‘Nobody is arguing that. But you need players who can change games, and you left one of them on the bench while we were getting embarrassed.’
He wasn't happy. I wasn't happy either. There were people around us, and everyone could see the argument wasn't going away quietly.
But let me make one thing clear: **I will not stand there smiling and pretending everything is fine when we're losing 3-0 at Old Trafford.** I'm the captain. I have a responsibility to speak up, even when the truth makes people uncomfortable.
Michael is the coach, and he has the right to make his decisions. But having that authority doesn't mean every decision is automatically correct.
You can demand respect as a manager, but you also have to earn respect through your decisions. And after what happened against Bournemouth, there are serious questions that need answering.”
@BROKENBRITAIN0@pauldbowen How the fuck do they get benefits, I was made redundant after working since the age of 13, I’m now 52, I couldn’t get another job and ended up losing my house and was entitled to nothing apart from job seekers allowance but even that was only for a short term.
@Carrie62759853 I had to do netball in girls PE kit for forgetting my rugby kit, the abuse I got from my mates I’m surprised I’m not damaged from it !!! 🤦♂️
@Gooner_70ns They need a significant punishment but the fans need to be thought about too, it would be unfair on them to have that sort of punishment, I think a transfer ban, monetary fine and point deduction can only be the likely outcome. Also do you let them carry on in the CL?
@EvacTony It’s going to come to a point, (actually we’re at the point) where we need to deal with this sort of thing ourselves and mete out the appropriate punishment. Have various tools and implements around the house for protection.
