A LOT of MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege.
An apology to my friends. I’m sorry if I don’t reach out anymore. I’m fighting for my life every day, second-guessing my career, doubting my life choices, scrolling through social media, and sleeping whenever I get free time just to escape reality.
I really owe myself an apology. For staying in places where I felt I wasn't wanted, but chose to hold on anyway. For trying to fix bonds that were already dead. For putting people first who would never have done the same for me. I knew better, but I kept giving chances. I kept showing up for folks who didn't appreciate me. So now I'm holding myself accountable, because I should.
YOU START LOOKING AT PEOPLE DIFFERENT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT HOW THEY REALLY BEEN TREATING YOU. especially when you realize how much you overlooked just to keep peace, avoid arguments, or keep somebody in your life.
