My experience has been that people are so scared & worried about the mystery of the dying process that it overshadows the living part. Part of the sol’n is getting real info to people about dying to free them up to live. Honest, open, truthful illness info will offer that space.
‘It really helps saying it out loud’…Anne & Tony, both bereaved chat in the cemetery. Talking to those we love who have died is completely normal & it gives many of us comfort. Grief is a lonely place, but finding others who get it, can be a lifeline. #AfterLife3@rickygervais
The role of caregiver is one of the most stressful titles that exists. Oftentimes, the stress becomes overwhelming, taking a toll on your health. Here are a few tips for coping with stress:
Prioritize sleep.
Go for a walk.
Breathe deeply.
Drink water.
Stretch.
Keep a journal.
Caregiving is not likely a role you ever imagined yourself filling. It can often feel lonely, leaving caregivers exhausted as they deal with heavy emotions.
Don’t forget to reach out for help!
"The day is done, and the darkness
Falls from the wings of Night,
As a feather is wafted downward
From an eagle in his flight."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
