Dublin City Councillor for the SW Inner City. Green Party.
I'm off!
It's a shame, I've been on Twitter for nearly 20 years. Really valued the info, fun and debate.
There was always abuse, but that's grown and grown until it feels like there's little else left now.
I'll still be posting and engaging elsewhere (links below).
I always try to reply and engage where I can online (especially with people who don't agree), but the tone of this place (and now the criminal, disgusting things they let their AI be used for) means it won't be here anymore.
Take care!

If interested, I've got the username pidgeondublin over on Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, LinkedIn and Facebook. Also you can always get me via email on [email protected]
I'll probably just leave this account in place as an archive, but won't be posting.

Engineers Ireland are calling for 2:1 spending on public transport to be brought back in to reduce congestion and car dependency.
It was introduced by the Greens and removed by FF & FG in this government resulting in delays to projects like DART+ and Luas Finglas.
They've done it again, they've cut more rail projects. The most criminal one for me is cancelling the reopening of the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare line. On the left is the All-island Rail Review published by the last government and on the right is the plan published today.
Ireland's only supervised injection centre has been open for nearly a year. It's reduced overdose deaths, public injecting, and needle dumping on our streets.
They're now applying for long-term planning permission and I'm backing it 100%.
@Feljin_J@lawlessj 100%. I think it's that you can't have both. We all understand that there are different interests/priorities being pushed within government.
But this seems like a battle where you either lost or aren't fighting. And a public call for a different decision seems a bit galling.
Delighted that my nomination as Green Party Candidate for Galway West By-election has now been ratified by the party executive. Looking forward to working with members and supporters in the campaign ahead.
Traffic in Dublin has gotten crazy the past few weeks. But the new government is taking money away from public transport projects that could deal with it.
We could have had a new DART station and improved lines at Heuston and Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot. But no. Roads instead.
📻 I'll be on @DrivetimeRTE at 4:45pm on why a hotel bed tax is a good idea.
Two thirds of EU states have them. Even a tiny 1% charge would raise €12m a year in Dublin City alone - improving the city for tourists and residents alike.
Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.
