The craziest part about the state of the world isn’t even how chaotic it is— it’s how we’re all expected to function like this is normal.
Just wake up, go to work, scroll the collapse, and circle back tomorrow.
Living the dream.
People ask me this all the time, and it’s the right question.
Why would billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, who has never done any public service (except DOGE, from which he was fired), moved his business and jobs to Texas, declares that Ohio isn’t the best state, won't even drive our roads, has an out-of-state area code, and thinks Ohioans are lazy and mediocre and envious of his riches, run to be Governor of Ohio?
To help everyday Ohioans? To protect our communities from his billionaire class and their big investments? To end the corruption? To lower the costs everyday Ohioans face as the big shots buy off the politicians and make out like bandits?
Of course not.
And why would a billionaire like Musk, with no ties to Ohio, support this guy and ads smearing his opponent?
To help everyday Ohioans? To protect our communities from his billionaire class? To lower costs?
Of course not.
It’s to keep selling Ohio and its assets off for parts to the billionaire class.
While we suffer the consequences of failing outcomes and higher costs.
This isn’t complicated, folks.
@nbcsandiego Americans don’t yet grasp that all the “lazy federal bureaucrats” who used to quietly and very efficiently keep our food safe, and magically solve disease outbreaks like this have been fired.
It’s going to be a lot longer than a week.
Y'all it is literally the government's job to find and stop outbreaks like this.
Y'all are not nearly angry enough that there have been no recalls, no one knows who or what is causing the outbreaks, and our government is just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ good luck!
@catladyactivist I’m so sorry. I will miss you when you go. Thank you for making me (and so many others, no doubt) feel sane and seen. But I get it. Most people are deeply committed to wearing blinders, even if it kills them.
Abigail Disney famously shared what happened to her dad when he began flying private:
"So all of the sudden, we went from being comfortable, upper-middle-class people to suddenly my dad had a private jet. That's when I feel that my dad really lost his way in life..."
"If I were queen of the world, I would pass a law against private jets, because they enable you to get around a certain reality. You don't have to go through an airport terminal, you don't have to interact, you don't have to be patient, you don't have to be uncomfortable. These are the things that remind us we're human"
