@sadderbadger @bymoonlightea Haha no her life certainly sucked.. but I mean the convoluted reveal of her knowing all along what happened and still acting the way she did.. for many of us it felt like she suddenly stopped making sense.

I think she's tragic in a way, but I'm not sure about top 10 material.

Big mom takes from her soul or other people and places them into already existing things.

Kanjuro draws anything he wants and brings it to life with its properties.

Draining your soul and being limited to what already exists won't help an artist like her.

@mih4wki @soydodgie To clarify, it's fine for someone to dislike him because of that, but I feel the fandom hate is too big for his character in particular out of everyone when technically there's thousands of more scummy characters that they like just fine.

@mih4wki @soydodgie For sure it's not an example to follow! I'm just surprised people think Oda would go the route of 'he'll beat him up when they meet'.

He is a bad father but that's such a low bar for the things people do in the one piece universe. The hate towards him feels forced and childish.

Even how Oda handles it with Usopp is he actually really admires his dad instead of blaming him. I think he'd just be happy to meet him and be someone he's proud of.

He is a pirate after all. I don't understand the people who lump him with the worst dads of all anime though.. like he wasn't actively tormenting and abusing his son like Judge.

@saboverse Yes, I love that he has the self-assurance and confidence of a man not to feel threatened by petty attempts. His ability to project both confidence and humility is one of my favorite things about him.

@ksk_nonrotation I had one and it broke down piece by piece until I had to let it go. The hat especially separated from Luffy's head, almost like Shanks didn't want him to have it anymore. 😆
