So many of the horrible things happening in America right now, like teaching our children slaves were lucky to learn skills, or allowing women to bleed out in hospital parking lots, or pushing migrants into rivers to drown, could be stopped by the women who look exactly like me.
It was great to have @SecretaryPete here in Portland to tour 82nd Ave and learn more about the city’s vision for the street. Building better, more livable streets is important for both public health and the environment.
No matter what you think of Portland, Tri-Met is one of if not the top Transit Systems in America and I can say this from experience in many other cities. And it's growing!
Biden, "These Republican officials just couldn't bear the thought of providing relief for working class middle Americans." Biden then blasted Republicans for taking PPP loans and supporting PPP, "You can't help a student but you can help a millionaire and have debt forgiven?"
👀 Ketanji Brown Jackson has a two-part footnote on Clarence Thomas.
She says he "responds to a dissent I did not write... demonstrates an obsession with race consciousness that far outstrips my or UNC’s... ignites too many more straw men to list, or fully extinguish, here."
WOW—
Now THIS needs to be spread far and wide.
Railroad members at four of the largest U.S. freight carriers now finally have paid sick days. They credit President Biden for refusing to give up on workers even after the original deal was negotiated to keep our supply chain going.
“We’re thankful the Biden administration played the long game on sick days and stuck with us for months after Congress imposed our updated national agreement. Without making a big show of it, Joe Biden and members of his administration in the Transportation and Labor departments have been working continuously to get guaranteed paid sick days for all railroad workers.”
