@jamesma30766313@MhairiHunter The externalities of driving are a net cost to society and drivers are subsidised. Bicycle users bring a net benefit to society. Cars are lethally dangerous killing thousands every year. The competance test to get a license is nowhere near good enough for public safety.
In six days i've produced 176 kWh of electricty from my roof in Wales.
The average home in the UK uses between 50 and 70 kWh a week.
It's March.
We have war. Strikes on world power supplies and fear.
Energy security for your home is fantastic!
We need more rooftop solar and battery storage.
I can use this electricty to, cook, clean clothes, heat hot water and even add some charge to my car all without any interfence from the world.
I can even help my adding energy to the grid.

@ArtistCyclist In fact the charge comes to a negative amount because of the cost benefits bike users bring to society.. so a tax credit should be payable for getting around by bike.
Austria has integrated solar panels with farming, called Agri-PV.
It enables a microclimate that is more optimal for growth of plants, protecting the fruit from hail, heavy rain, and excessive heat. While also generating electricity.
They want to scale it across Europe!
That people think nothing of prioritising public space for empty and unused cars, which are parked 96% of the time (on average), over alternative uses, such as protected cycle tracks for all to use, is the biggest swindle ever carried out by the motor lobby.
@heraldscotland Idiotic take! They aren't trying to deter people coming into the city, they just don't want them to bring cars with them - they're dangerous noisy, polluting and there's nowhere to put them.
“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas and city center in 2021.” https://t.co/L0sCsmDqmg
@LindsayJS Being back British Restaurants - "1943, 2,160 (they) served 600,000 very inexpensive meals a day. They were disbanded in 1947... the Labour Party saw them as a permanent solution to equalising consumption across the class line and guaranteeing a nourishing diet to all"
