I’m finding that for a lot of nft collections there is a huge communication gap, specifically on discord. You basically have the “click” and then everyone else on the outskirts.
I also unsuccessfully tried to buy a @TheSuitesNFT yesterday on @MagicEden_NFT ... I knew it was a stretch but got on early, clicked "minting" as soon as it opened then got hit with the "oops, something went wrong"...
I refreshed after that and it said the launch was not live for another 5 minutes...I knew that was false and even worse, knew I was screwed. Those whitelists seem like the route to go for any collection you actually want.
I specifically am going to be transferring SOL from the Coinbase exchange to Phantom wallet so I can get an NFT on @MagicEden_NFT - this will be my preferred marketplace for my first NFT
After you buy crypto on coinbase there is a standard waiting period and you can’t send it to other wallets… it all cleared and I’m free to transfer it. This will be necessary for the nft I want to get, my first one!
I def look at the #’s but specifically look at ENGAGEMENT - both on Twitter and discord to gauge the strength of the community and potential of the NFT collection.
I suspect the ones with the strongest communities will be most successful - but I’ve seen projects with 8-9k followers on here outperform ones with 30k.
