@MarioNawfal I think it’s simple. Russia wants security and resources and the US wants to exact a hefty price tag. It wants to degrade Russia economy and military in return. My guess is Russia will keep a huge portion of Ukraine, but will be depleted so the US can focus on rivalry with China

If the US wants to stay top dog, then it needs to degrade all countries that challenge its power (friend or foe) e.g. Russia and China.
