Why the Eagles Coaching Changes Signal a Shift in Offensive Philosophy
“Individually, each move is intriguing. Collectively, they form a pattern.”
The #Eagles appear headed for a philosophical shift on offense
My latest for @ThePhillyBlitz_ https://t.co/7jYiYH5lKY
@toucansam46 Point is it didn’t really start being an issue until this past season when there were numerous reports before and during the season that he wasn’t 100% healthy. He at one point said he got weekly injections to play.
Eliot Wolf says the #Patriots are aware of but comfortable with AJ Brown’s knee issue, per @JoriEpstein.
“It’s a factor, but we examined him. He's got a knee that has some wear and tear that we were aware of. Our training staff and medical staff signed off on it.”
The Eagles REALLY wanted to get their guy.
Howie Roseman tried to move up as early as 19 with the Panthers. Really cool moment from Carolina’s draft room docu-series.
Just like Jihaad Campbell last year, Howie wanted Makai Lemon and was willing to do whatever it took to get him.
Logically speaking there is no better situation than what he had in Philadelphia.
He put up historic numbers, won a championship and was well compensated while in an Eagles uniform.
What more could he have wanted?
Former Eagles WR A.J. Brown was reportedly frustrated with his role in Philadelphia.
Yet since Brown was traded to the Eagles in 2022, here’s where he ranked in each major receiving statistical category:
Targets: 521 (7th)
Receptions: 339 (11th)
Receiving Yards: 5,034 (5th)
Receiving Touchdowns: 32 (7th)
Since 2022, only two players ranked above Brown in all four of those categories:
- Ja’Marr Chase, CIN
- Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET
That’s it…that’s the entire list! 🤯
In closing, I’m not sure that Brown’s role can truly be much bigger than what it was during his tenure in Philadelphia.
Let’s just say that the grass isn’t always greener.
@Anthony_philly_ Honestly I don’t know. If it were basketball I could see it because it’s more common for HCs to move to front office roles but in the NFL the only one I can remember is Bill Parcels but that was forever ago. I’d hope so though
Jordan Mailata: “Sean [Mannion] is an evil genius. The guy knows ball. If I were to lock the three smartest people in the building in a room together, Sean would be there. He’d probably be by himself.” #Eagles
