I’m generally opposed to milking these franchises dry until they’re nothing but a shriveled husk, but if this movie is going to villainize iPads and scold parents who use screens to babysit their kids then I wholly support it. This may be the only “part 5” movie that has ever had a valid reason to exist.
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence spent several weeks practicing the climactic ballroom dance in Silver Linings Playbook.
Lawrence said:
"None of that was improvised, absolutely not. I'm a terrible dancer, so I’d never have been able to do any of that
The Lion King (1994) remains Disney’s crown jewel. The animators studied real lions at Animal Kingdom to capture movement, and “Circle of Life” was animated before the rest of the film because the directors knew it would set the tone.
The Prince of Egypt (1998) is a masterpiece that still doesn’t get its due. DreamWorks pushed hand-drawn animation to its limit, over 900 artists across 34 departments built those sweeping, painterly visuals. A genuine animated epic hiding in plain sight.
Bedtime routine with three kids keeps extending. 1 year old mimics everything 3 and 5 year old do. Everyone wants to sing their own song, read another book, get cuddled, tickled, then prayers, then ask “questions,” then another cup of water, then bathroom again… 1.5 hours later
I wish we spoke more about the joy of motherhood. It’s an adventure. It’s exciting. It’s fun. It isn’t always easy, nothing in life is. But it isn’t all pain and misery like young women are being indoctrinated to believe it is. It’s a joy.
The “right to choose” is simply a euphemism for murder.
You have the "right to choose" how to drink your coffee
You have the "right to choose" where to have lunch
You have the "right to choose" when to go to bed
But nobody has a “right to choose” an innocent child's death.
Has anyone actually successfully learned a language using Duolingo
Seems like a lot of cute graphics and satisfying sound effects but I'm not buying that it actually works...
The problem isn’t marriage, it’s sleeping with women who are willing to do so without being married. If she gives herself to you outside of marriage, she’s showing a lack of virtue, and so are you.
The answer isn’t avoiding marriage, it’s avoiding sin. Find a woman who values chastity, loyalty, and commitment, someone who believes divorce is not an option, centers God in her life, and is willing to work through difficulty.
Marriage isn’t about butterflies and happy feelings, it’s about sacrifice, perseverance, and building something sacred. Don’t blame marriage for the fallout of lust. The issue is men chasing pleasure over principle. Live with discipline, not desire.
The set up you describe, where men have children by lots of different women, has already been tried. We’ve seen it in primitive cultures and we see it today in the most dysfunctional, filthy, and crime ridden communities in America. This kind of set up is “natural” in the sense that it appeals to our most base and uncivilized impulses. It’s primitive and animalistic, which is why it is so commonly found in the animal kingdom. Reptiles and monkeys behave this way. But we are human beings.
Monogamy and the nuclear family call us to something higher. It’s not natural but supernatural. Man and wife become one at the altar in a mystical though still very real way. This is perhaps a riskier and more difficult path, but a man should not shy away from the riskier and more difficult path. The greatest happiness and most meaningful successes in life are found down this path.
One other point: if you want boys to become men, you cannot leave them to be raised almost entirely by women. Boys need the daily guidance and example that can only be provided by a man who lives in the home and has committed himself to that family and that family alone.
You are the captain of the ship. You need to be on the ship. You need to eat and sleep there and walk the deck with your crew. You need to be there when the storms come.
The “N-word” doesn’t mean a thing to black people except to control white people with it.
If they reealllly didn’t like it they’d stop using it themselves, and stop reacting to it, and it would disappear.
For people who haven’t raised boys, it’s difficult to communicate to them just how Spartan these toddlers are. They need wilderness and battle, perpetually.
All I say is “go find your father—mommy doesn’t fight”
But when they are sick, mom becomes #1 again.
And yes women are inevitably going to end up taking on a disproportionate amount of the domestic responsibilities. That’s not oppression. That’s millennia of biological hardwiring. A woman’s mind tends to be more focused on needs inside the home. A man’s mind is more focused on what needs to be accomplished outside the home for the sake of his family. Neither the husband nor the wife are “wrong” in their focus. They are different. Women like this are forever frustrated and doomed to misery because they just cannot accept that their husband is different. They cannot accept that they married a man and not a woman.
A women will post an absolutely insane story about almost divorcing her husband and destroying the lives of their kids because the man can't read her mind, and other women will unironically be like "Brilliant." Are you all just trying to sabotage each other or are all of this completely insane?
Among conservatives there is a healthy amount of skepticism towards Big Pharma when it comes to vaccines, which is good and certainly warranted. But there isn’t nearly enough skepticism about the highly potent psychotropic drugs they’re giving to children as young as 4 years old to treat illnesses that the psychiatric industry invented out of whole cloth, like “ADHD.” This is an even bigger scandal than the COVID jab, in my opinion, because it’s a much longer running scam and it specifically targets children.
