My birthing experience:

I was reluctant to make this video detailing the harsh truth that so little has changed for Black women in maternity care since my birth. However, transparency about the persistent biases and neglect we face is necessary to drive reform.

I’m still extremely grateful that my baby girl and I are well, and enjoying this period but I wish I could honestly say we had a better experience in maternity care this time round.
