Argentina v Cape Verde was without a doubt, the greatest game of football I have ever watched in my life.

Argentina advance in extra time, but Cape Verde captured the hearts of every single person watching this match.

An island nation of 500,000 people just went toe to toe with the reigning champs Argentina. They dragged them to extra time and scored not once, but twice from behind.

Not only did they pull this off, but they also took points off Spain, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia in the group stage.

I have never seen a team in any sport, fight for every second of every match with this much heart. This team is loaded with warriors and I can't believe I was lucky enough to watch them play.

I hope every single player on this team, and fan supporting them holds their heads high regardless of this result, because that was the most inspiring 120 minutes of my entire life.

Thank you Cape Verde for inspiring all of us watching at home. The beautiful game truly is just that.
