🚨 BREAKING: FILECOIN PREPARES MAJOR NETWORK UPGRADE AS FIL SUPPLY GROWTH DROPS 75%

Filecoin has scheduled its Solstice upgrade for October 19, introducing major changes to how storage providers earn filecoin:native rewards.

The upgrade shifts incentives away from simply providing storage capacity toward services generating real customer demand.

Key changes include:
- 95% of rewards initially allocated to consensus providers, with 5% going to services
- Service rewards potentially rising to 50% over approximately nine quarters
- Unused service rewards burned instead of redistributed

The upgrade also follows the end of Filecoin's six-year token vesting schedule on October 15, which the Filecoin Foundation estimates will reduce daily FIL supply growth by approximately 75%.

The bigger shift: Filecoin is moving from rewarding storage capacity to rewarding actual usage and paying customers.
