Enjoyed myself Tuesday, leading this group from Tipperary Tourism to Derrynaflan and recounting the story of how the famous chalice was found. If you would like to read the story of this discovery, I will be writing about it in the outdoor pages of the @irishexaminer on July 3.
Glad to give a shout-out today for @StDeclansWay in the RTE guide as my favourite walk. The 3rd stage crosses the Knockmealdowns by a lovely pass offering great views, Mount Melleray Abbey & Liam Lynch Monument. @MunsterVales @VisitWaterfors @Waterfordcc@welovewaterford
Enjoyed myself yesterday at the press preview for the opening of the new Irish Wake Museum in #Waterford. Met some old friends afterwards at dinner in beautifully refurbished Mount Congreve House. Will be writing about both in this weekend’s Irish Times

Della Kilroy RTE joined us on the @wexpempilgrim path earlier this week for a walk through, Co Wexford in glorious weather. What she recorded goes out on the Countrywide show on RTE Radio 1 after 8.10am tomorrow.
Recently visited Coole Park. Co Galway & was sad to see where Lady Gregory’s home once stood. Focus of the Irish Literary Revival, it was visited by Shaw, Synge, Hyde, Yeats & O'Casey. Thoughtlessly torn down in 1941, it would surely have made a huge attraction if standing today
A Twitter follower has sent me 2 contrasting pictures of Kilcooley House, the once proud Palladian Mansion near #Thurles. The 1st picture shows the magnificent entrance hall in its heyday, while the 2nd picture reputedly shows the same area last year. So sad! @DerelictIreland
When was the last major geographic feature discovered in Ireland? No, it wasn't several centuries ago, but in 1987. Read my piece about the chance discovery of Carrauntoohil's wonderful #HowlingRidge this week in the Irish Examiner. @KerryClimbing
