According to realism, if a belligerent state with ambitious and selfish intentions seeks to dominate a region, smaller states often form alliances and coalitions to counterbalance such potential threats. The Philippines’ efforts in alliance building help maintain a balance of power in this region. By engaging in military collaborations with other countries that support the rules-based order, the Philippines can not only prevent China's domination but also deter its illegal bullying and aggressive behavior.
France’s intention to conduct joint patrols not only demonstrates its support for the Philippines but also reinforces our claim that an increasing number of states believe on our legal backing in asserting sovereignty and sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea compared with the baseless ten-dash line claim of PRC.
To clarify, the recent incidents in Bajo de Masinloc and Ayungin Shoal should not be seen as an escalation of tension caused by our provocation. It is important to note that the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources' operation last Saturday was solely aimed at providing humanitarian assistance to Filipino fishermen. Similarly, the mission conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines yesterday was merely a resupply operation for our troops aboard BRP Sierra Madre. These operations were not intended to provoke any conflict but rather were routine in nature, with a humanitarian component aimed at supporting the livelihood of our fishermen and the well-being of our soldiers.
The recent incidents highlight China's blatant inclination to engage in illegal and hostile actions in order to assert their self-serving claim in the West Philippine Sea, based solely on the ten-dash line. They have shown no hesitation in violating international law and even posing a threat to peace and the established rules-based order. It is evident that they carry out these illegal actions because they believe they can, taking advantage of the perceived vulnerability of countries like the Philippines to assert their dominance.
This is the very reason why the Philippine government is actively exposing the bullying behavior of China to ensure that the Filipino people are aware of the challenges we face. At the same time, it is important for the international community to understand that a powerful country in our region is attempting to use its military and economic strength to assert control over the waters that rightfully belong to us.
By putting a spotlight on this issue, we seek to unite the Filipino people to go against China’s agression and with one voice we can be able to garner support and solidarity from the international community in defending our rightful claims.🇵🇭

South China Sea dispute
If you are a Filipino, whether in government or private sector, regardless of your politics, defending and making excuses for China's aggressive behavior should deem you unpatriotic, and a traitor to the Philippines and to our people. Given current developments in the West Philippine Sea, it is important to show loyalty to country.
While I recognize freedom of speech as an important right guaranteed by our constitution, it should not be misused as a means to justify unpatriotic actions by acting as China's mouthpiece. All Filipinos should unite in calling out China's aggressive and unlawful actions in the West Philippine Sea. Together, we should stand united in protecting our nation's interests and pursuing a peaceful resolution to the issues.
Dahil sa West Philippine Sea ang yaman nito ay para sa Pilipino!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a “Scholar ng Bayan” or “Scholar para sa Bayan” or whatever it is you call yourself.
What matters is your authentic and genuine intention to serve and the actions you take on a daily basis.
Nothing else.
